Drama workshops

Drama workshops will take place during all year. The topics are folowing:

Character Development  In this workshop we will explore the different ways that you (the performer) can get to know and identify with the character that you need to perform. By trying to look at the history and background of the character and how they would deal with various situations, through exercises.

What's in a line?”: Emotions 101  In this course we will discover the many different ways /emotions the 'lines' (words in the script) can be interpreted and learn how to utilize this to bring something fresh and organic to your performance.

Scene Study  In this course the performers can choose a scene or monologue to learn and perform by the end of the workshop. The students will be encouraged to try more challenging characters to portray to stretch their ability and imagination. They will also get a chance to learn how to focus and work on their role within a limited time frame.

Losing 'you' & Staying in Character  This course will give the students the opportunity to learn how to deal with distractions during a performance and get back on track (in character) and how to let go of your personal life distractions to allow yourself to 'get into character' for your performance.

Over the top: How to avoid “Over-acting”  'Over the top' is a phrase that 'mean more than enough' and 'beyond what you need'. Sometimes this can be good, but often it is used in a negative way. Whether doing a serious drama or comedic performance, it's always good to give it your all, but you must find a 'middle ground'. In this course we will look at how much is 'too much', so the student can avoid giving an unrealistic or just plain bad performance.

Improvisation  We will tap into the students ability to create in-the-moment 'organic' acting experiences and to think on their feet. This course will also help you be able to deal with the 'unexpected' or performance mishaps. We'll do this through various exercises and games.
